Electronics Recycling

As part of our commitment to contributing to the health of our environment, our office wanted to make our patients aware of an electronics recycling opportunity. Recycling electronics can be difficult, but fortunately the Hancock County Solid Waste Management District has presented an opportunity for local residents to safely recycle their unused, unwanted and broken electronic devices. This is a one day, rain or shine, event which will be held on September 12, 2009 at the Agricultural Service Center (7868 CR 140 in Findlay). Recycling of electronics is important because of the amount of energy needed to create these devices and the space they consume in landfills. Recycling your old electronic devices can even be a tax write off. Items included in this recycling drive are: CPUs, Monitors, Keyboards, Software, Telephones, Printers, Fax Machines, Scanners, Hard Drives, Laptops, VCRs, CDs, CD Rom Drives, Servers, Computer Speakers, Cables, and TV's. There will be a separate collection the same day, on site, for cell phones, cell phone batteries, and ink cartridges. Proof of Hancock County residence will be required on site. Any questions can be directed to the Environmental Services Office at 419-424-7210 or via e-mail at HancockSWMD@co.hancock.oh.us
