Take a spa trip!
There are a number of spas in Ohio which offer rest, relaxation, and body pampering. Many even offer weekend deals and have their own or deals on lodging. This is a great way to spend a whole weekend recharging your batteries. There are many ways to organize your spa trip. Perhaps this is a mother daughter(s) weekend, a creative bachelorette party or shower, or a romantic getaway for two. Don't forget that men enjoy spa days as well, and although they may not be keen on a facial or pedicure, they are certainly interested in steam baths, hot tubs, and massages. The whole weekend would not have to center around pampering though. Go out for dinner, a show, or to a museum. Perhaps you can stay at a bed and breakfast and make the spa part of your overall experience. It is easy to find a spa and plan activities with a little online research.
Your feet like to be pampered too, but there are a few things to keep in mind about your footcare:
-If you are a diabetic, there are special concerns about your feet (visit our blog "Diabetes and Foot Care" at:http://diabetesandfootcare.blogspot.com/). You should keep these concerns in mind when considering any footcare.
-To avoid ingrown toenails, make sure you cut your toenails straight across, even if a pedicurist is performing this task for you.
-Anything that causes pain to your feet is probably not helping. Pain is your body's way to warn you about danger, and it should be heeded.
-Walking on your vacation is great for your health, saves some money, and can be one of the romantic parts of your weekend. But remember to wear proper shoes. It is wonderful to go to dinner in high heels, but it is not a good idea to take those same shoes on a long romantic walk or dancing. Your feet will let you know that they are tired and sore after these activities. -Remember that a spa weekend is about relaxation, so do just that. Do not over schedule activities, but do what you would like to and feel is appropriate for the time you have. Do not be afraid to schedule down time, where you can read a book, take a bath, or watch some television. You can also leave your cell phone off and avoid checking your email to help you stay away from overstimulation and possible stress. It might be a good idea to inform the people you are in contact with most often that you will be out of town for the weekend and unreachable. This will remind them not to contact you unless it is an emergency.
